The good women who feel like all the good they’ve had to offer is gone.

The unfortunate truth is that there are countless women finding it difficult to leave a relationship that needs to be in their past...

simply because they don’t want to leave without knowing or feeling that they gave their absolute best.

This is beautiful but can be terrible because their idea of absolute best is sometimes draining themselves of every ounce of effort,

their heart of every bit of love they can give until it’s all gone.

They sacrifice their all for a man who couldn’t or wouldn’t give them the bare minimum.

They find the word ‘love’ becoming something they never want to experience again or at least for now.

What’s even sadder is that men dealing with women like that are clueless.

They miss the obvious signs, the cry for reciprocity,

the need to show up to the relationship and nurture it.

When they hear the woman’s complaint they label as same ole same ole,

when the pain starts to make her defensive, they call her crazy.

When she’s no longer trying, they call it lazy.

When the woman’s fed up and done, they start to make promises they are unwilling to keep, acting like they care, playing the victim role, and putting up a fight for a relationship they never cared for or even knew how to.

This poem is to those men,

the men who wait till a good woman is no longer good to them to cherish her.

This poem is also to those women,

the good women who feel like all the good they’ve had to offer is gone.

Isn't it funny...

Isn’t it funny, you give your all to someone, they take it for granted only to act like you’re doing something wrong to them when you pack up your heart and leave.

They see you pour as much time as you can only to make excuses as to why they couldn’t do it themselves.

They watch you overcome things to be better to them only for them to settle into the “that’s just the way I am” mindset.

They watch you sacrifice friendships, maybe jobs or careers to be with them, only for them to make you feel selfish when it’s their turn to do the same.

Isn’t it funny, they only want to show you that they want you when you just don’t want them.

Isn’t it funny now that he acts like a victim on some days but then acts like he doesn’t need you on other days.

‘Overly emotional’, the same words he used on you when you would get emotional fighting for the dead relationship between the two of you.

There’s nothing funny about heartbreak but it’s funny how some people only see you when you’re gone or on your way out.

If he didn’t recognize you falling out of love, even when you made it clear to him, that’s on him. Maybe he needs this poem.

But you, let this poem be a reminder that you persevered, you sacrificed, and you waited until you couldn’t wait any more to leave.

You’re tired, your soul is tired, and I’m tired for you.

❤️

 You owe no one an apology;

not to the ones who saw the perfection of the glass house but couldn’t see cracks in the foundation,

not to the ones who only saw the good in him the way you saw it in the beginning until you met the other side of him behind closed doors,

not to the ones who tell you to fight for nothing,

not to the ones who cannot see your scars or your pain, but see the smile and the strength you finally found.

You owe no one who isn’t you an apology.

Her reflection is your creation.

A woman mirrors what she receives. Treat her with love, and she'll give it back tenfold. Stand by her, and she'll stand by you even ...
